Aleta Stith
Aleta B. Stith, age 91 of Sunbury passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on the family farmstead of Delaware County on May 7, 1919 to the late Charles and Ethel (Hicks) Rinehart. A graduate of Centerburg High School in 1937, she retired after 24 years from the Big Walnut Schools, where she worked in the cafeteria of the Big Walnut High School.
A member of Sunbury United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant Ladies Aide, and the Still Going Strong Club, in her younger years hunting and fishing were favorite activities. An excellent seamstress, she enjoyed crocheting, Amish country, and playing cards. A wonderful cook the aroma of her delicacy's will long be remembered. She was sweet, loving, and at times quiet. She treasured her family and was blessed with many lifelong friendships.
Survived by daughter: Ann Powell of Reynoldsburg, sons: Roger (Margaret) of Sunbury, Phillip (Debbie) Stith of Delaware, 6 Grandchildren, 3 Step-grandchildren, numerous Great-grandchildren, an expected Great-great-grandson, and sister Juanita Pool of Cincinnati.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years Henry Stith in 1988, son-in-law Rollie Powell, brothers Charles and James Rinehart.
Graveside services will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 5697 Condit Rd., Centerburg, OH 43011 with Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.
