Jack Dexter Griffith, 85, Of Upper Arlington, passed away on Thursday, March 3 at Kobacker House/Hospice. Jack was born September 16, 1925 in Columbus to the late Dr. Harry L. Griffith and his wife Amelia Jungermann Griffith. He was a Navy veteran, attended Colgate University where he played football, and graduated from The Ohio State University. He was a member of Sigma Chi. Jack had a long and successful career as a municipal bonds broker for Vercoe and Company/Advest, and retired in 1996. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Chafin Griffith. Survivors include his children, Kathy Griffith Heim, Harry Andrew Griffith, and Leslie Sue Wellington. Jack is also survived by his sister Jean Ohlinger. Jack also had 6 grandchildren. The visitation with the family will be from 4-6:30pm on Wednesday, March 9th at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, in Worthington. The memorial service will follow at 6:30pm that evening. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Golden Endings, a rescue program for Golden Retrievers.
