Hiel K. Chambers, 91, of Delaware passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Marion General Hospital. He was born on January 31, 1920 in Delaware, Ohio to the late Laurence L. and E. Florence( Adams) Chambers. Hiel was 1938 graduate of Willis High School. After high school he served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft and engine mechanic, where he spent 2 years in England, 6 months in France, 2 months in Belgium, and a total of 39 months in the service. Hiel was also the recipient of the ETO ribbon with 4 bronze stars. Hiel and his father operated L.L. Chambers and Son Auto Repair shop for 51 ½ years. He is survived by his: daughter, Pam (Ray) Kraus, 2 grandchildren, Tiffany Kraus, Ken (Leslie) Kraus, and 2 great grandchildren, Andy and Nikki Kraus. He is preceded in death by 2 previous wives: Orpha Jean Strupper of 18 years and Delores Rose Durst of 36 years. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 8th from 6-8pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home. Funeral services for Hiel will be held on Wednesday, March 9th at 11am at Rodman Neeper Funeral Home with burial following in Oak Grove Cemetery where military honors will be conducted. In lieu of the flowers the family is asking that contributions be made to Honor Flight, Inc. (300 E. Auburn Ave. Springfield, OH 45505).
